From the 23rd till the 26th of June, Amarante received the team of the FIT FOR KIDS project for one more step in its implementation in te city. FIT FOR KIDS intends to fight obesity in kids, improving their quality of life.
The FIT FOR KIDS project, after implemented in countries like Denmark and Italy, finally arrives to Portugal, more specifically to Amarante. The main objetive is to fight obesity in young age, through free nutritional advice and sports activities, developed by volunteers.
From the 23rd till the 26th of June, the 4 project partners, coming from Copenhagen, Milan, Turin and, of course, Amarante, were in our beautiful city for the 3rd International Meeting and a short training, that will be later shared with the interested in taking part in this initiative.
During the 1st day, the participants did project situation, had the theoretical part of the training and were welcomed by the President of the municipality, José Luís Gaspar.
On the 2nd day, they dedicated themselves to the practical part of the training, trying out different exercises and games, that had already been tested and well succeeded in other countries, and to the resolution of practical questions of the project in Amarante.
