Casa da Juventude was a very silent place from 19th to 24th of March. Why? Because everybody’s favourite volunteers (well, at least 12 of us) went to Braga to participate in the on arrival training. We were very excited to meet other EVS volunteers, who are currently living and working in Portugal.

After we arrived, we saw that our Amarante group had the most members/volunteers. But all together, 30 people from 16 different European countries and 9 different Portuguese organisations participated in the training. Our program during the week was a very busy one, since we had to participate in the activities both in the morning and afternoon. Through the tasks we got to know more about EVS and this was also a good opportunity to get to know new people.

At this point I would also like to mention our great trainers, Sara, Rita and Dúlio, and thank them for making the program interesting and enjoyable. And even though we were really tired everyday, we still had a lot of fun and I truly hope we will stay in contact and try to see each other as soon as possible.

Até já,
Kaja (EVS volunteer in Amarante)
