Casa da Juventude de Amarante, represented by Miguel and Susana, travelled to Ghana, from 4 till 9 of May, for the implementation of one of the last steps of the project Youth in Africa, financed by European Union.
You already know that CJ is always around the world and from the 4th till the 9th of May, travelled to Ghana, represented by Miguel and Susana, under the project YOUTH IN AFRICA, financed by the European Union.
The main objectives of this meeting were to evaluate the project, share the already achieved results (videos, websites, brochures) and get to know better the Ghanaian partner. During the 6 days they also had chance to visit local Young People We Care partners. They met BOOOMERS, a company that produces bamboo bicycles, EDWENASE, a rehabilitation center for disabled people and KUAPA KOKKO, one of the largest producers of fair-trade cocoa. They ended up visiting the butterfly sanctuary and were amazed by the rainforest they found.
Several moments lived, many stories to tell and photos to share.
The Youth in Africa project has sent 6 locals of Amarante to Cape Verde, Benin and Ghana, where they developed a volunteering project either for 6 or 3 months and opportunities are not finished yet. Jebe Shia akyere (until next time)!
